Capturing SOAP traffic

dtrepanier
To aid in debugging basic connectivity issues with trading partners, I would like to be able to capture all SOAP traffic.  Usually, I need to be able to see <wsse:Security> Also, it would be nice to do this without filling up the server log file disk  :-)    Does anyone have recommended log settings, or other tips?

Thanks,
Dave

Hi,
You can turn on log level to dump all soap traffic.  Unfortunately, it will fill up your server log since it is no way to filter only <wsse:Security>.  Have you look at the tools tcpdump(https://www.lifewire.com/tcpdump-linux-command-unix-command-4097081) and tcptrace (http://www.tcptrace.org/)? It can run separately without changing your server and dump into separate file.  Once you are done, you can delete it.  I haven't play around with it yet but those tools are promising.

I actually have found a way to do this in our application server's log itself. It's spammy but super handy. What application server are you running?
